Iona May weekend - Rays of Hope

6th -7th May 2017 at St Mary's Church, Penzance

Led by Alison Adam of the Iona Community

We are delighted to welcome Alison Adam from the Iona Community to Penzance for the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of May. During the weekend she will lead a Big Sing on the Saturday afternoon from 2pm and with a service to follow on the theme of ‘Rays of Hope’. There will be a small charge for this (2 - 4pm £5), and there will also be other activities going on over the weekend, programme to follow.

The Iona Community believe in social justice and help those in need. Within our area we know there are many groups who provide an outreach to our community - we hope to create a visual display celebrating these many opportunities to show 'Our Rays of Hope' shining within our area.

Therefore, we invite you to share a picture or photo of your outreach and write an accompanying short description of the social action and a short prayer (100 words max). These will be on display at St Mary's church from 22ndApril to 7th May.

Please contact Helen to arrange for collection or delivery to the exhibition. Details below.

The Iona Community is committed to the belief that worship is everything we do, both inside and outside the church, continuing throughout every action of work, common life and recreation, one work of service offered to God.

As preparation for this weekend, we are also planning a Poetry and Arts workshop on Saturday April 22nd in the afternoon, when any photos, prayers can be shared and displayed. The workshop too is open to all who are interested

We look forward to sharing with you the open welcome of an Iona experience.

Thank you

With best wishes
