2017 - 18 Internship scheme

2017-18 Penlee Cluster Internship Scheme

A place to discern God’s call on your life.

Show me, O Lord, the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. -  Psalm 143:8

  • Are you interested in exploring God’s calling for you in your life?
  • Are you considering an internship or pastoral assistant role?
  • Would you like to be part of a lively and busy ministry team, praying and working together exploring ministry opportunities?
  • Perhaps you feel called to Christian ministry but don’t know where to start?

THE PENLEE CLUSTER Intern Program is for young (and young at heart) women and men who believe that God might be calling them to Christian ministry. We take on 2 Interns each year, although we can be flexible e.g., in the current year we have a 1 young adult, and a married couple serving with us. The internships are normally for 12 months beginning each September.

An internship with us will give you the opportunity to discern and explore God’s call on your life, whatever shape that may take. You will have the opportunity to assist in many of our community projects and in our 4 churches in the Cluster which vary in churchmanship and style including informal and traditional and everywhere in between!

There will be an opportunity for you undertake some theological study and reflection.

You will be living in accommodation provided by members of the congregations.  You will receive a small allowance and your board & lodging, transport & study costs will be paid for.

You will have the support of our large clergy team here in the Cluster, which includes full time, part time, and retired members together with other staff. The staff member with particular support of you will be the Revd Derath Durkin (priest serving in retirement).

If you are exploring ordained ministry (or just thinking about it) then you will also have regular meetings with the Diocesan Director of Ordinands (DDO).

Please see our website www.penleecluster.org and to see how to apply and to see more about us.
